Abstract

This article examines the scientific study of family issues within the field of social psychology. It highlights the significance of the family as a fundamental social institution, explores the psychological characteristics of family relationships, and analyzes major scientific research conducted in this area. The paper also discusses the historical development of family psychology, reviews the theoretical contributions of foreign and Uzbek scholars, and identifies contemporary challenges in studying the modern Uzbek family. Particular attention is paid to the role of family relationships in personality development, socialization processes, and psychological well-being.
