Publication Ethics

The European Review of Contemporary Arts and Humanities is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal follows the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability in all aspects of the editorial and review process, in line with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, accurate, and free from plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.
All sources must be properly cited, and acknowledgment of the work of others is required.
Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal.
Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and sources of financial or institutional support.
When human or cultural subjects are involved, ethical approval and respect for relevant guidelines must be clearly indicated.

Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted manuscripts are evaluated based solely on scholarly merit, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope, without discrimination of race, gender, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
Editors must ensure the confidentiality of all submitted materials and may not use unpublished data for their own research without explicit consent from the authors.
Editors should take responsive measures when ethical complaints arise regarding a submitted or published paper, following COPE recommendations.

Duties of Reviewers
Peer reviewers assist the editorial board in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts.
Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share, discuss, or use the information contained within for personal advantage.
Reviews should be conducted objectively, providing constructive feedback, and free from personal criticism or bias.
Reviewers should disclose any conflicts of interest that might affect their judgment and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Duties of the Publisher
The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining ethical publishing standards and is committed to preventing any form of malpractice.
The publisher ensures that appropriate guidelines and procedures are in place to address allegations of misconduct, plagiarism, or unethical research practices.
The publisher guarantees open access to published content in a manner that ensures academic integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Misconduct and Plagiarism Policy
The journal applies a strict policy against plagiarism and research misconduct. All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism detection software. In cases of suspected misconduct, the editorial board will follow COPE’s flowcharts and guidelines to determine the appropriate action, which may include rejection of the manuscript, publication of corrections or retractions, and notification of relevant institutions.
