MORAL AND ETHICAL EDUCATION ISSUES IN THE LITERARY HERITAGE OF TURDI FAROGIY

Abstract

This article examines the issues of moral and ethical education reflected in the literary heritage of Turdi Farogiy, a prominent seventeenth-century Uzbek poet and thinker. The study focuses on the poet’s social, philosophical, ethical, humanistic, and patriotic ideas expressed in his ghazals and mukhammases. Particular attention is given to Turdi’s views on social justice, human dignity, unity, solidarity, moral responsibility, and the negative consequences of ignorance, oppression, corruption, and social discord. The poet’s appeals for unity among the Uzbek tribes and his criticism of unjust rulers and officials demonstrate the significant moral and educational potential of his literary heritage. The article also considers the humanistic ideas reflected in Turdi’s mukhammas based on the ghazal of Sheikh Saadi. The analysis shows that Turdi Farogiy’s literary works contain valuable ideas that can contribute to the moral, ethical, intellectual, and patriotic education of the younger generation. His literary heritage remains an important spiritual and educational resource for contemporary society.
