Abstract

This article examines the pedagogical significance of repertoire in developing the performance skills of students of a specialized art school. Repertoire is regarded as a key means of shaping the student’s technical proficiency, capacity for artistic interpretation, musical thinking, and stage culture. The article considers the didactic principles of repertoire selection, the need to take students’ age and individual characteristics into account, the integration of national, world classical, and contemporary works, and ways of gradually increasing the complexity of repertoire. It also demonstrates the role of repertoire in fostering aesthetic taste and respect for national and universal human values in students.
