THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN LEARNING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The use of technology has become an essential part of the learning process both inside and outside the classroom. Today, almost every language class integrates technological tools in various forms. Technology is used to support, enhance, and individualize language learning, allowing teachers to adapt classroom activities and making the overall learning process more effective. This study examines the role of new technologies in learning English as a foreign language, discusses attitudes toward their use, and highlights how technological tools help learners develop key language skills. The researcher defines technology and technology integration, explains the application of technology in the language classroom, reviews previous studies on technology-based language learning, and provides recommendations for more effective use. The literature shows that the proper integration of modern technologies significantly improves learners’ language proficiency and supports overall educational development.
